Alistair Darling has moved to head off growing anger from motorists by confirming that this autumn's 2p rise in fuel duty will be scrapped.

The Chancellor said suspending the rise, which had been due to take effect in October, would "help motorists and businesses get through what is a difficult time for everyone".

Thats bleeding good of him

And of course, as we all know, this announcement has absolutely nothing to do with the forthcoming by-election in Glasgow East..........not bloody much.
Do they take us all for a bunch of twats?

Plus they forget to mention the extra revenue from VAT they will rake in when the prices go up anyway.
