Very tough threadI don't really take in the TV anymore , I seem to have so much to do online , I'm not sure if that is good or bad.
Anyway to my point..................
Tonight I did watch TV, part of me wishes I hadn't , I watched Emmerdale, and tonight's episode was I'm sure very emotional for many people across the UK tonight.
The storyline is about a girl , who is terminally ill with cancer , she asks her hubby to help her to die , something I hope I never face.
It got me thinking .............. yes I can think , laffin , I was thinking should the soap's be allowed to run storylines such as this one?????
People would argue that soaps should reflect real life and indeed they should , but as a person who has lost a number of loved ones to this God awful disease I'm not sure whether or not that this storyline should be allowed , speaking for me personally , it makes me think about things I would really rather forget , I was just wondering, how watching storyline like the one in Emmerdale made you feel? and if you think that watching soap should be about escape , escape from the real world for a while and not about emotional issues like this?
This thread is a tad morbid , so I want to end it on a positive note , so I have added the link below

Aye, these things are always tearjerkers, and not just the women! These storylines are always big ratings winners, but they do have a positive side as well. They can show, as this has done, the massive support network in place for people affected by such things.
Lets face it, if it's not cancer, it's summat else. When going on personall preferences, war films do it to me. For obvious reasons. I can never watch Saving Private Ryan without not having to leave the room in two scenes of the film!!
Horses for courses!! Everyone has summat that upsets em, if they stayed away from certain things then they'd have to stay away from everything!!!!
