The scum lostDidier Drogba's goal just four minutes from the end of extra-time gave Chelsea a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the first FA Cup final at the new Wembley.
The Ivory Coast striker latched onto a superb Frank Lampard pass to finish off a sweet Chelsea move by poking the ball past Edwin van der Sar.
Earlier in extra-time United had claims for a goal turned down after Ryan Giggs slid into Petr Cech, forcing the Chelsea goalkeeper and the ball over the line.
Earlier, normal time had provided little entertainment as both sides looked happy to settle for a stalemate as they displayed a lack of creativity and willingness to get forward.
A smattering of half chances came and went but it wasn't until extra-time where it started to get a little interesting and with penalties looming, Drogba pounced to win the cup.
Afterwards the Chelsea match winner was ecstatic to have clinched the Cup in the first final at the new Wembley.
"I feel great," said Drogba. "If we don't win this cup we would be very, very frustrated.
"I'm just happy to score the first goal in the new stadium."
Drogba also paid tribute to manager Jose Mourinho, owner Roman Abramovich and his Blues team-mates.
He told BBC1: "This (another trophy) is what Jose has shown in his three years with us. Special congratulations to him and Roman.
"A lot of the players have been criticised but this is my team."
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson felt fatigue played a major part in his side's defeat.
"There was nothing between the two teams - neither deserved to lose or win and it is disappointing we have lost," he said.
"The pitch was slow and that didn't help but from our point so view I think we were tired in two or three positions, which didn't help us.
"What the players have been through in the last few months (their Premiership title victory) has been exceptional and credit for that but we couldn't cross the line today.
"Maybe the number of games they play eventually gets to them."
Chelsea captain John Terry claimed winning the cup had helped "make up" for losing the Premiership title to United.
"This makes up for it. It's not nice losing - but nice coming here (and winning).
"It's absolutely unbelievable. It's one of the best feelings I have ever experienced.
"The way we hung right on to the death. The way Didier took his goal. It was first class.
"We both started tentative, gave the ball away and make mistakes.
"But we kept going and going - and it paid off."
Goalkeeper Cech was asked about the incident involving Giggs and said: "It (the ball) was behind the line, but it would have been a foul anyway."
