The big fight liveis anyone going to watch it on saturday????
Amir Khan hopes his quick feet and faster hands will help him make a little piece of history when he defends his Commonwealth lightweight title against Gairy St Clair in London on Saturday.
Australian St Clair, a world champion at super-featherweight just 15 months ago, has lost five times and drawn twice in a 46-fight career but has never been knocked out, stopped or even floored.
It is a record that has seen the Guyana-born fighter go the distance with both Vivian Harris and, more impressively, the late Diego Corrales, who were both world champions.
But unbeaten Khan, 21, thinks he has the potential to unlock the defence of the man 11 years his senior at the ExCel Arena.
"He is the best that I've fought at the moment - he is tough, he is strong, has a good chin and never been knocked out," Khan said.
"It's going to be tough for me; he's durable and has a lot to offer but my style is good for this. I have fast hands and movement so it's going to be a good fight.
"I have the speed to catch him and he has never fought a guy who is faster than him. He will have to see how fast he can move away from my quick punches.
"I think it's going to be a good test for me to see how I can do against a guy who is very slippery and awkward. He could go down. We'll have to see."
Khan added: "I want to show people how far I've come along. It will be a big achievement for me as the likes of Corrales couldn't stop him.
"I've been sparring a lot of hard pad work, I've got the fitness in the tank and the training I have done for the fight has been perfect."
Khan, who has never been beyond 10 rounds in his 15-fight professional career, is more concerned about St Clair's awkward tactics than his ability to go the distance.
At 5ft 10, Khan is six inches taller than St Clair, which could influence the Bolton fighter's ability to land his best combinations.
He explained: "You can catch them on top of the head and stuff, but I've prepared. I've done pad-work and different combinations for catching someone who is going to go down a lot.
"He is slippery and will put his heads down low. You can hurt your hand and it will be a good test, something different.
"I never go in there trying to knock someone out, I go in there to box to win. I train for the 12 rounds and if it goes 12 rounds, it goes 12 rounds but I want to win in a good style.
"He will be an awkward fighter and has a lot of experience, but I'm ready - I have all the fitness I need in the tank and I'm ready to get in there.
"It's going to be a totally different fighter to normal. I've made my mistakes and I've learnt from them but I'm stronger and faster and more experienced.
"This is a good fight to show I am not taking the easy route. He needs me to be back on the map again, but I need him."
