Thats that

Well thats that then, still in League 1.  Im glad I didnt spend all that time, money and effort going down to Wembley.  Third time and we still didnt win.
Bravo

I wouldn't mind, but they played awful too...you don't mind going down if you put up a fight.

Still, it's the downs that make you enjoy the ups all the more
Josie-lufc

Er what ups

Last time we had an "up" was 1991-92, 16 years ago.
lil eva

We haven't made it back to the Championship, but we have done remarkably well this season all things considering.
I don't think that there is a club that has survived a big point deduction like we had.
We will come back all the better for this experience next season
Bravo

The choice Bates was given at the beginning of the season was another relegation to league two, or a 15 point deduction.

So, not only have we survived the drop to league two, but we nearly got promoted!  Absolutely amazing achievement in all honesty.

Of course, once we found ourselves where we were, we wanted to go up, of course we did, but the truth of it is, given the choice Bates had, we would snap their hands off to be where we are today, despite the loss.

If you want to mope about it, fine, but we should be proud.
Josie-lufc

Dont know why people keep saying that, I think the club will find it hard now as we will feel the hurt for a long time to come.  I just hope its not like the season after we lost to Watford, people said we would come back stronger then and instead of that we got relegated to League 1.

I think we will struggle next season and I said we wouldnt win the play-off today.
lil eva

Yes you did Jo,but at the start of the season i would have settled for 5th and no playoff final.
Im proud of Leeds achievement this season and i think they will be back next season.
Josie-lufc

Well, I just feel like sobbing my heart out (yet again).  Yeah they have done us proud but I just have this horrible sinking feeling in my stomach.
lil eva

Yep you and me and thousands of others Jo,but we got over last seasons relegation and we will get over this.

ON ON ON
Josie-lufc

After the week Ive just had and now this, Im not so sure.

I went round a garden centre today while the game was on cos I just couldnt watch it (and Im glad I didnt) and I couldnt walk round for even half an hour, made me realise how ill I am and if we had won today at least I would have had summat to smile about.  Now Im seriously depressed and worried that my health is now getting seriously worse.

I need summat to go seriously right.
Bravo

Well I've heard it all now, one thing being upset at a loss, but you are talking of being upset about not doing well next season when it hasn't even happened yet!

Losing is a part of football, look at Chelsea, they come 2nd in the premiership and got to the champions league final and yet they are gutted.  I am soooo glad I am not a Chelsea supporter, gimme league one any day.

I have learned loads this season about the lower leagues and how the fans see their teams, I used to feel a bit sorry for them having crap teams to support, but there is so much more to it.  I have taken a leaf out of their book, its about enjoying the game and making the most of whatever glory comes your way.  We've had our day at Wembley, many a set of fans would give a lot for that.
Josie-lufc

Ok then if this is what you want.

Yesssssssssss, we've lost, 1-0 to Doncaster, we are still in League 1 and I am so pleased.

Bring on the MK Dons next season, what a cracking game to look forward to.

Im not upset that Leeds lost today infact Im absolutely delighted.

1-0 in our cup final, 1-0 in our cup final.

Is that better.
lil eva

It is a game of football,an interest and something to look forward to on a Saturday afternoon.A distraction from other things around us.

Yes i cried last May when we were relegated, yes if my grandkids hadn't been here today i would have cried again and still might because im gutted, but there are other things to focus on like your health and family Jo and serious issues that are going on in my life and others lives at the moment.
I would have been elated if we had gone up today, but we haven't and we have to do it all again next season.
As i said before ON ON ON
Josie-lufc

I know Anne but I have no family as they are all dead. All I have as family is  Dan and an unhappy and unloving marriage.  My health as you know is not good.  I have no one to confort me like you have your grandkids etc, Leeds are my only distraction from the utter garbage that is my life.  Going round the garden centre today and going shopping on my own yesterday was no fun and coming back here now its like a morgue.
lil eva

I do understand that i have a more extended family Jo and you only have Dan,but the point i was trying to make love is that there really are more important things in life.
I cannot begin to imagine what its like with your illness and i wouldn't pretend to,but although football is an important part of my life,it is not the be all and end all.
Josie-lufc

Well its not to me anymore, I really dont care about anything now, the best thing in my life is this mac computer Ive just bought - says its all.
breakdancer

i can honestly say that leeds played awful in the first half but they played better in the second half, maybe they will get automatic promotion next season as what i heard they could get that as they are i big club!
Josie-lufc

Just because we are a big club doesnt mean we will get promotion.

We will not have the -15 points deduction we had at the start of this season but the points deduction was the thing which really got us motiviated at the start of the season.  Not having that next season could mean that the players are not so fired up as much.

Thanks for that Breakdancer
Chrissy Canadian

well when it comes down to it, it's just a game.  put it in perspective and treat it like it is.  its fun when you win and not so fun when you lose lol. savour the wins cause everybody cant win every time, even manchester united. i think leeds had a really good season coming back from the 15 point deficit.  they gave their fans a good show.  they should hold their heads high and so should the fans

Josie-lufc

Yeah but Im still gutted and in tears
gaz

another season in lge 1

we will win it next year bates has got to give mac some cash so he can bring in the right players
lil eva

Yes Gaz,Macca did well with some of his loan signings,so if the cash is available to him,he should buy some decent players for next season.
Josie-lufc

Im feeling a lot better today and am now looking forward to next season.  All being well, depending on what days the matches are played but am looking forward to going to the MK Dons stadium.  Had a look on their website and it looks really nice.  Plan to go to the Walkers stadium and to Peterborough too  and we will be able to go back to Walsall and Crewe.
lil eva

Thats great Jo,

Onward and upward
Josie-lufc

Exactly and I am sitting in another part of ER in the disabled section near the John Charles stand and not with Dan so summat else to look forward to.
Josie-lufc

And by the looks of things on the telly, Stockport County too.
