Jolufc

The title of this thread doesnt make sense
Bravo

I think he means who is going to Wembley
Jolufc

Well I guessed that, who all is going? lol
Bravo

Said in a Yorkshire accent is all, nowt wrong wi' that love
will_lufc

were yorkshire were yorkshire

oh yes me and paul have got out tickets sorted nice 1 i cant bloody wait
lil eva

I can't go
But i'll be there in spirit
chimp

I'll be watching on honeymoon
Jolufc

Ive just been looking on the internet at train fares from here to Wembley Stadium and it seem I will have to pay over £70 for a single fare and that was with National Express railways and when I looked at another site think it was called Railsaver or summat they couldnt even give me a price.

I know Dan would love to go to Wembley and if we are to stand any chance of getting any tickets now, we would have to drive up to Leeds tomorrow which would be no problem but there is not much point if we cant get down to Wembley and there is no way I am gonna drive down there.  The stress of  the drive plus the parking, and the game and the drive back would make me very ill.

As much as I love the club, paying £140 each way is rather a lot to say the least and thats without the price of the actual match tickets.

I hate living in this part of the country, there is absolutely nothing here if you happen to support Leeds.
lil eva

How about a family travel ticket Jo or a sort of day rover?
Jolufc

Well the £70 was the cheapest thing I could find other than if I went the night before and travelled overnight believe it or not.

I couldnt find a family ticket or day rover thing cos like I say the other thing I looked at couldnt give me any prices - comes up "sorry there are not prices available for this journey"

I just wished there was a Leeds Utd supporters club down here, there are enough Leeds supporters down here.
lil eva

Thats a bloody shame
Jolufc

Yeah, oh well I can but dream.

Advise to anyone thinking of moving, dont come here its horrible
Joe1

It's an expensive trip, but I think it will be worth it.

We got flights sorted 15 minutes after we won on Thirsday night for about £85 each.  Just awaiting confirmation of match tickets.

Jo, were do you live, Wolverhampton?  Think it's somewhere in that direction?  There's bound to be some sort of members club relatively close.
Chrissy Canadian

well, i always say, where there's a will there's a way
Joe1

Jo, how about Coventry, maybe not too far away.

If they've any spare seats on a bus, it might be worth a try.

What about Nottingham Whites?
http://www.nottinghamwhites.co.uk/main_menu.htm
Jolufc

Thanks Joe but they are both quite a distance from here.  Like I have said, its a hopeless place to live as far as being a Leeds supporter is concerned.
Joe1

You should check out flights!  Can be cheaper than train at times.
Jolufc

I havent got a passport, sorry Joe but we're really fupped.
lil eva

Do you still need a passport for a domestic flight???
will_lufc

jo leeds at wembley just get yourself there its not like it comes round every season sod the cost of it who cares we only all live once so you make the drive or get the train you wont be dissapointed
you are a season ticket holder why the hell should you miss out on such an event like this do it for yourself jo you no it makes sence
Joe1

Exactly Wil, I don't understand it, unless she's taking the piss.

Jo, you can fly inside the uk with your driving liscence, but I suppose Dan probably won't have passport either then?

Look, Jo, please for your own good e-mail one of those folks at those members branches ask if they've got a bus going and if there's any spaces.  It can't be that far to travel to those places (a hell of a lot less than London anyway).  Or if not, how about drive up to Leeds on Saturday night, I'm sure you could get somewhere to stay, a B&B or something.

You'll regret missing it.
lil eva

Ive got Jo train and coach prices, but she still doesnt think she will be there.
Jolufc

I cant believe what Ive just read.  Am I taking the piss??? Please dont forget I am sick with cancer, which means I get tired very easily and quickly.  Going up to Leeds is a killer and how we dont make it back without having an accident is unbelieveable - my hubby and a people I know round here think its remarkable.

I can hardly walk so yes I will book the train tickets which means changing twice on the way down and 3 times on the way back when it is likely to be dark, or yes I can drive down but the chances are I will be so stressed with the drive down there, trying to find the place, parking and then the game plus the drive back (which is about 3-4 hours one way) that I will have such a bad headache and be so tired that there is no way I would make it back here without being seriously ill.

If I was to book into a B&B not only would I have to find Wembley but also the B&B and the area around Wembley is not exactly small.  Paul you are going with the Scarborough Whites so you dont have to drive, its all taken care for you and Joe you are much younger and are well so the travelling there probably will be no problem for you and your parents have probably helped you to sort it out.

So please, just think before you say things.  There is nothing I would like more than to take Dan to Wembley and watch Leeds but living where we do and my health situation has to be taken into consideration.
lil eva

Jolufc

Im sorry Anne for sounding off but it just annoys me that people think it is so easy.

Ive been down to the new Wembley on a coach and that was bad enough, I was ill when I got back that night.

Stopping in a b&b in Leeds is all very well on the night before but dont forget I would have to drive back from Leeds after we got back or stop over another night.  All this just for 90 mins of football which we are not guaranteed to win.

I have got a season ticket for next season, is that not enough.

I wont regret not going if we lose.
lil eva

Hey Jo,you have to do what is right for you.
They maybe didn't think that the journey by train or coach would still take it out of you.It looked to me that no one wanted you and Dan to miss out if there was a solution to your problem and we were just trying to find a solution for you
Jolufc

Yeah I know Anne, but Joe asked if I was taking the piss as if I was making excuses not to go.  My dream has been to see Leeds at Wembley and if I had been younger and fitter I would have go out of my way to make sure we got there.

Im afraid its just one of things.
lil eva

Perhaps Joe doesn't know about your illness and was taking it that being season ticket holders he couldn't understand why you wern't going???I dunno
Jolufc

Yeah he does know about my illness as I have spoken to him on skype a few times.

Anyway after reading this thread he will know now
Joe1

Argh.

Come on Jo, you know I didn't mean it badly, I meant it as in are you keeping us all going.  You've made the trip to Elland Road many many times this season, which is a long way to go in itself to see League 1 football.  I thought this one you'd definately be desperate to go to.

And by the way, no my parents haven't sorted any of this for me, myself and my brother have sorted the whole thing and to be honest we don't have a clue about how we're getting to Wembley, and we're taking a huge risk in missing our flight home.

I know about your illness and know that you are remarkable in your dedication to Leeds United throughout what must be a very hard time for you, so please don't think I was trying to insult you.

I've been trying to find ways for you to get there as I'm sure it will be an unmissable experience and don't want such a loyal fan to miss out, but it looks like you have your mind made up that you can't do it and fair enough.  But there are ways, such as regional members clubs which have to be worth a bash.

The most important thing is your health, and happiness, so if theres' any way you could make it, I'm sure you will.  If not, I hope you enjoy the game anyway.
Jolufc

Ok Joe no problems and Im sorry for sounding a bit harsh earlier but I had a really bad day and have been hurt rather badly and so was rather vunerable yesterday.  Sorry mate.

To be honest, its eating away at me not being able to go and even travelling to Coventry and Nottingham because I dont know the area (only the Richo Arena and the City Ground) would be extremely stressful as I am not very good when it comes to going places i dont know very well.

If I had another adult with me (preferably male) it would be different but just me with Dan going somewhere neither of us know is terrifying to me plus the fact that my hubby is not keen on us going either cos he would do nothing but worry from the minute we set off to the minute we got back.  He didnt want us going on a coach cos he reckons we would be travelling with "yobs, who just want to get pissed" (his words not mine) and going by train would be too much for me cos of all the waiting around for the trains and such.

Never mind, hope you all enjoy your day out. Wouldnt mind having a programme if anyone feels they could get me one (I would send you the money and my address for you to send it to me   .
Chrissy Canadian

i can understand how jo feels.  its a lot of stress travelling and stuff.  you can have just as much excitement watching it on tv, with some bevvies in hand   and you can't believe that this is going to be the only time they'll ever be at wembley!!
Jolufc

Exactly Chrissy and who knows the next time Leeds are there it could be Dan whose driving me down there.
lil eva

Yeah,with your grandkids
Jolufc

Nice thought Anne but I hope it wont be that long before we are back there.
lil eva

There's people queueing already for tomorrow.  Think it's a bit of a party down at Elland Road.

Joe1

Received tickets today, was really shocked as I was told I'd have to pick them up at Wembley.

Can't wait!

Yes it will.  Leeds are at Wembley and I'm going to be there, whatever result, it will be a great day in my opinion.

A win would make it an unbelievable season, but a day out at Wembley, singing until I lose my voice, I'll enjoy the experience even if we lose 3-0.
lil eva

The only time ive been to Wembley was when we played Villa in the League cup and we lost.
It was still a good day and like you say Joe with the singing and the atmosphere, its a day to remember

And we won't lose 3-0
