salt + woundsCardiff chairman Ridsdale to release Leeds book
tribalfooball.com - August 08, 2007
Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale is to publish a book detailing the spectacular rise and fall of Leeds during his reign at Elland Road.
Ridsdale spent over six years as Leeds chairman before he quit the club's board in March 2003 and has commented publicly in the past on his controversial reign.
However, this will be the first time he has given a definitive account of the period that he would later describe as "living the dream" as Leeds tried to break into European football's elite before their catastrophic decline.
The book's synopsis says: "United We Fall" is the unique story of life inside football, told from behind-the-scenes of one of Britain's most legendary clubs - Leeds United.
"It is also the true story of the childhood fan who became chairman of his Premiership team. Peter Ridsdale, one of the game's most controversial and colourful figures, oversaw the most dramatic and talked-about period in Leeds United's history.
"In this compelling account, he writes about how the dream spectacularly unravelled when the club went into financial meltdown."
I think if I'm honest with myself I have to admit the PR era finally made me wake up and smell the coffee with regards to football in general , it made me realise ,that the magical feeling the game once gave me had long since gone , will the magic return ?? who knows , for the likes of Dan and Joe I really hope so ,they deserve to experience what I did , when it was about pride , it was about being united in defeat or in victory , it was about emotions, but what it wasnt about, is pound sterling.

Just another way for him to line his pockets off the back of Leeds, I won't be buying, or reading as to be honest, I don't give a shit what he has to say.
Steve, the pride is still there, it's in us the fans and once the FA and FIFA get their act together and sort out the huge inflation in the game, it is the fans that will put te pride back into the game. So we have to hang on, or else that magic you mention might never return on the full scale. For me just beign at Elland Road is magical enough though.

I am sure that the magic will return to Elland Road.At long last we again have players who want to play for LEEDS,not just play for the money and sod the results.
The lads who have stuck by Leeds this closed season and then signed contracts should prove to be the backbone of the team who are going to be a force to be reckoned with again.
