RECIPE OF THE DAY

Today I cooked Pork Strognoff.

Pork fillet cut into strip, width ways.
Fried in a little olive oil with sliced onions and sliced button mushroom.
Add some double cream, salt and pepper to taste and some paprika sprinkled on top.

Serve with a jacket potato with real butter.

Delicious

i like to make a nice big batch of tomato sauce that can stretch over a few meals and you can use with spagetti, penne, rigatoni, etc.  you take chopped onions, green pepper, celery, mushrooms, carrots (or whatever other veggies you may have) saute them in olive oil and garlic until tender.  then in a large pot you add the veggies to a large can of diced tomatoes, a can of tomato paste, a can of tomato sauce, add some bulgar to give it texture, season with oregano, basil, thyme (i use italian spice which has them combined), salt & pepper and and a pinch of sugar.  you simmer that for about 20 minutes or so while you are boiling the pasta and enjoying a nice glass of wine.  serve with a green salad and garlic bread.  you can also put the sauce over rice for a change of pace
Josie-lufc

I guess you are not very keen on the flavour of tomatoes then Chrissy
