Police tell Tranmere fans to go early.POLICE are urging Tranmere Rovers fans to arrive early for Saturday's opening game of the season against Leeds United at Prenton Park in Coca-Cola League One (kick-off 3pm).
The Yorkshire club, who are due to kick-off the new campaign minus 15 points - a penalty they are appealing against - have sold their complete allocation of tickets for the match.
Police believe the opening game could attract a bumper 'gate' at Prenton Park.

Chief Superintendent Colin Matthews, police commander for Saturday's fixture, said: "The first game of the season traditionally attracts a large crowd. All our information points to this fixture attracting a bumper gate on Saturday.
"Fans are requested to come early to the ground, to reduce any build-ups at turnstiles.
"Safety of supporters is our priority and we ask the fans to help the police and the club by arriving in good time."
He added: "Leeds have sold out their allocation to supporters approved by Leeds United. I would remind away supporters not to travel without a ticket, as they will be refused entry to the ground.
"A high standard of crowd behaviour is expected by both the football authorities and the police. Both sets of fans look forward, I am sure, to an exciting fixture between two sides who may be pushing for promotion later in the season."
Looks like the Leeds effect is kicking off, payday for every club we play away!
