I got questioned when I went to yankie land on the grounds of...
TERRORISM! I know I have strong views but they were taking the p*ss!
My passport has lots of Egyptian visa's on it, because I work voluntary at a charity in Egypt. They were convinced I was some form of Islamic fundamentalist. I just made my flight, t*ssers!
Plus they were funny with me when I needed a doctor and refused to treat me for 10 hours in a hospital even though I was paying.
Never go back again.

Not a big fan of Americans, but you can't brand them all as one. It's a country of 300million, and it's extremely diverse. The stereotype of America that English media and TV portrays is mainly rural America. If you go to places like New York and California, it's entirely different... They understand that the world is much bigger than just America, and that America aren't the be all and end all, whereas the yokals in the middle tend to be slightly delluded. George Bush is a prime example of this.

well tbf i'm not saying there isn't a percentage of the net population who aren't douchebaggists...
but i'd be willing to bet the same % applies to any nation.
and although i'm biologically 50-50 yank-anglo, culturally i'm probably 75% american.
the site yank bashers should be warned however.. i've spent many years in ingerland and know when pots are calling kettles black.

sweet.
honestly though.. the atmosphere here is very welcoming. i post to this other footie related forum and once a day there is invariably some vicious slagging match.
that gets real old real quick.
i've only skimmed through the 'i bet this gets deleted' thread but as a newcomer i can say it doesn't really seem that bad. although i'm sure it is to the parties involved. all i can say on the matter is "where's the love people?"
ok now the touchy feely stuff is over...
et's have some PROPA yank bashing!!

LynnT
|
well i wouldnt say "bashing" but i think our Jo will be giving you a damn good poke
