TVDid anyone see the programme last night about bank charges........i missed it cos my daughter came round..........just wondered if it was interesting ?????

Didn't say much that hasn't been out in the public domain for a while - there are lots of resources on the net about this. Basically they reckon that Banks are ripping us off with charges for overdrafts and bounced cheques etc. £30-£35 for a letter that can't cost them more than £4.50! Lawyers say the charges should reflect the cost to the bank of dealing with the issue and not be just a punishment - the amounts are seen as disproportionate to the offence - which is against natural justice and, the argument goes, therefore illegal.
They have a section on their website itv.com/tonight which tells you how to go about trying to reclaim charges (with interest), although as I said there are plenty of articles/sites around the web that'll tell you more.
