Teen May Be 19th Bridgend Suicide

A 19-year-old man who died suddenly in Bridgend is thought to be the 19th victim of an alleged spate of suicides in the Welsh town.

Suicides in BridgendSouth Wales Police told Sky News that the teenager, named locally as Shaun Rees, was discovered in the Bettws area of Bridgend at around 7.30am.

There does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and an investigation has been launched.

Eighteen young people have apparently killed themselves in Bridgend since January last year.

But fears of a 'suicide death cult' in the town have been rejected.

The previous death was that of Michelle Sheldon, 23, who was found hanging at her boyfriend's home in the nearby Cefn Glas estate on April 6.

She died three days later after being put on on a life-support machine.

Coroner Philip Walters said the cause of death was asphyxia due to a ligature around the neck, and overdose.

South Wales Police are investigating the latest death and will compile a report for the coroner.

They include Dale Crole, 18, David Dilling, 19, Thomas Davies, 20, Zachery Barnes, 17, Gareth Morgan, 27, Anthony Martin, 19, James Knight, 26, Jason Williams, 21, Andrew O'Neill, 19, Leigh Jenkins, 22, Liam Clarke, 20, Allyn Price, 21, Natasha Randall, 17, Angie Fuller, 18, Kelly Stephenson, 20, Nathaniel Pritchard, 15, Jenna Parry, 16, and Miss Sheldon.

How sad
Something is definately going wrong with these young people and all these deaths do seem to be more than a very sad coincidence

I just pray for the parents and families, of the kids that take their lives, if only they knew their 5 minutes of glory leaves a lifetime of hurt to those left behind, I'm sure they wouldn't do it. I don't mean to sound harsh, but I think they get swept up with the hype, and most of it is online, and they deffo don't really think of the consequences
