England V AlbaniaSteve McClaren has announced his starting XI and they are mostly players on the fringes of the full England squad, with nobody from Liverpool or Chelsea considered for selection.
Alan Smith is the only Manchester United player in the squad, and he will partner Michael Owen in attack.
Fit-again striker Owen will captain England B in his first international since the World Cup last summer and McClaren will be eager for him to show some kind of form, especially with Wayne Rooney suspended for next month's Euro 2008 qualifier against Estonia.
Scott Carson has been selected in goal and he will hope to avoid the same fate that befell Robert Green in England's last B game, against Belarus last May, when he suffered a serious groin injury.
Tottenham pair Ledley King and Michael Dawson will line up in the centre of defence, with Phil Neville and Nicky Shorey as full-backs.
Gareth Barry, Jermaine Jenas and David Bentley have been given the nod in midfield, along with winger Aaron Lennon.
Lennon, the only member of the side to play in England's 3-0 victory over Andorra in March, may wonder why he has been asked to prove himself again, but will be eager to show McClaren that he can fill the right side of midfield, his favoured position.
Among those on the bench are Joleon Lescott, David Nugent and Kieron Dyer.
Albania will be looking to boost confidence ahead of their two qualifiers against Luxembourg next month.
They are second bottom in Group G but have managed to hold Slovenia and Bulgaria to goalless draws in their last two games.
Coach Otto Baric has named a strong squad for the match.

Lennon's form has been shakey this season, probably because he is now expected to perform every week. Thought they would've tried out Baines at left back...
I think Dyer is a fantastic player and would love to see more him play more.

Im with Joe on the dyer he is a cracking player when he plays at his best , great to see Jena being picked ,and King , and me hopes that lennon can show us all what he really is capable of doing , cos he is without doubt one of the most exciting players in the PL today.
