Door still open for BeckhamSteve McClaren insists the door is not closed on a possible England recall for David Beckham.
Speaking on the eve of England's B international against Albania, McClaren revealed he would still consider the LA Galaxy-bound midfielder for selection.
The Real Madrid man, impressive for his club in recent months, has not played for England since resigning the national team captaincy following England's World Cup exit last summer.
Beckham has never hidden his desire to make a return for his country, and has now been given added encouragement by McClaren, with the England boss revealing that he is still monitoring the 32-year-old's form.
"I've never said the door is closed for David Beckham," McClaren told the Sun.
"I keep an eye on everybody and David's form has been monitored."
Pick him you Muppet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not from england and so don't support them, but the way I look at it is, Beckham will only be fit to play this season for england, once he goes to LA, he will drop down a notch or two in sharpness and fitness. As well, he isn't exactly in his prime. England should be building for the future, not bringing in someone for a few games.

I see what you are saying Joe,but no one can deny that England have missed him

Not so sure, it just fits nicely that they've not been at their best when he isn't playing, England just need to get the combination right and get a team who can play together and they will be one of the best in the world.
When you're not a team that can play well together you get beat 1-0 by Northern Ireland.

I 'm not a huge Beck fan , i did think he had a piss poor world cup , having said that , he has been playing well , and we have missed his passing and crossing ability , he should give us more options when it comes to breaking teams down , me thinks also this is the last throw of the dice from SM , and guess is that is was the player who forced him into beinging back Beck rather than SM wanting him back.

Totally agree Steve that SMc doesn't want him back, but as you say he has to give him a try.If for no other reason than to silence his critics.

I hope it works , not for S.M cos i think he is the wrong man for the job , but because I want to see our national team do well.

Becks had been the best player on the pitch for ages. It was a publicity stunt by McLaren to drop him, proving what a complete retarded tit he is!
