Doncaster suspend ticket salesDONCASTER Rovers has suspended over the counter sales of tickets for the club's biggest match in 50 years after fears tickets were getting into the hands of Leeds United fans.The club said it had sold over 20,000 tickets for Sunday's Wembley play-off final against their Yorkshire rivals before sales were suspended this morning. A statement released by the club today said ticket touts and Leeds United fans were trying to buy tickets from the Rovers' allocation. 
It said: "It is with great regret that Doncaster Rovers must announce the suspension of sales of tickets at the Keepmoat Stadium Ticket Office. "This is a measure that has been forced into place, due to the high amount of Leeds United supporters and ticket touts who have now started grouping outside the perimeter of the Keepmoat Stadium, following the Leeds United allocation at Wembley being sold out completely." The club said it would still take orders by e-mail, telephone and fax but every application would be checked against the club database and thoroughly vetted before tickets were issued. But it means fans who are not on the database and were planning to buy them from the stadium will not be able to buy tickets. The statement said: "Doncaster Rovers apologises for any inconvenience that this may cause." Football League spokesman John Nagle said: "The Football League supports the decision taken by Doncaster Rovers to suspend counter sales of tickets for Sunday's League 1 Play-Off Final owing to the large numbers of Leeds United supporters seeking to purchase tickets through this route. "The club will however continue to make tickets available by other means to supporters listed on the Doncaster Rovers database." They couldn't sell their own tickets......sell their own tickets

Well if they can't sell theirs, and we have massive demand, it is only common sense for Leeds fans to get them.
The Leeds fans get the tickets they want, Donny get more money, the stadium gets full, everyones a winner. |

It's a disgrace, the FL would rather have empty seats than Leeds fans in.
Apparently the Donny chairman wanted to give Leeds 6000 of their tickets but FL or FA refused. |
