- now reality really starts to sink in.
Woody

not a huge loss me thinks , i cant say i will be sad to see him go.
Joe1

Is this confirmed or just paper talk?

He will go, and if it's for a million there'll be add on fees and stuff all over the place.
Woody

will let hope any add on fee is based on goals scored , we will end up having to pay fulham something at the end of his contract.
Pretty Shambolic

There'll be no add on fees whatsoever.

Healys not worth more than £1million, and theyve got us by the balls.
Joe1

He's worth an absolute minimum of 1.5 million. Watching him for Northern Ireland, he is amazing, he runs the show which is understandable as we don't have too many great players, but he has shown he can score against teams of all levels with top quality goals. His club level football hasn't been the best but clearly if he was in a better team he would score many more goals. Supply the ball to his feet and he'll score, stick a big man up beside him and he'll score. When he goes, he'll go to the Premiership and be a great striker and will score plenty of goals, then we'll all be moaning about why we don't hold out for better offers.

What he does for N.Ireland means absolutely nothing. He's never performed at domestic level, which makes £1million a great deal. I'd snatch their hands off, like Bates has rightly done.
Woody

he has to be the highest paid player still at the club too ,get rid of his wage bill will be a huge help to the club next season.
Joe1

So you're saying that we should take advantage of the fact that he is a player who has shown he can score great goals against supposedly some of the best sides in the world. You can't just disregard that, he clearly has tonnes of ability, it's just a matter of a manager finding a way to get him to show it at club level.

If he played for England and had scored the same goals against the same teams, he'd be valued over 10 million. Just because it's a smaller country it doesn't matter?

He hasn't been awful at Leeds, and although he hasn't shown his best, I just checked wikipedia and he's scored 29 in 111. Not the greatest but decent enough. We need to put a price on his potential to make it big time, he mightn't be a youngster but he still has plenty of potential which Leeds haven't seen. He can be more than twice the player he is for Leeds.
Pretty Shambolic

A club isn't buying him for what he does for his country.

No one wants a striker that's lazy and will only perform when he can be bothered then go and put an hattrick past Spain.

He's not that good Joe.

£1million is a great deal

You are right young man , he does have ablilty ,you cant deny what he had done for N.I , but does he have the desire to preform at his very best when the chips are down??? I'm not sure , but if one manager can get the best out of him then it has to be L.S
Joe1

Maybe they aren't buying him for what he does for his country, but that should clearly be viewed as an indicator of his talent. It is proof it is there and just because he hasn't been prolific for Leeds, it is obvious to everyone that he could be a fantastic player. Let's not sell him for something we will regret in the near future.
Woody

I dont think they could afford to keep him mate even if they wanted to , and lets be honest , will he want to stay , PL footie or L1 footie ??? he will be playing for Fulham next season me tinks:-)

Exactly. Theyre taking a CHANCE.

they arent gonna risk paying over the top for someone that might not perform! They're not Leeds!

I'm shocked we got a million
Joe1

Not a huge risk really, this is a player who has proven his ability, clubs will only go for him if the manager fully believes he can get the player to perform at his best, so for managers it wouldn't be seen as a risk at all. Unfortunately, this could go on all day and I don't have time for that. So I will finish up by saying I believe selling him for £1 million is a huge mistake and he is worth much more and the only problem with getting a large sum for him is our position financially and in the football league. Howver we could still command a fee of around £2 million although I'd settle for half way between I still feel we're losing out and getting the short straw.

Again, has the deal been confrimed by either club?
Pretty Shambolic

Of course its a huge risk! HES NEVER PERFORMED AT DOMESTIC LEVEL!

What he does for Ireland doesnt matter mate. he doesnt perform for his club.

This deal is Healys wish I believe so its as good as done
Joe1

Northern Ireland, not Ireland, sorry aboout being picky, but we're totally different in terms of football.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on Healy. Also, it's the Daily Mail reporting this so let's not automatically believe it.
