Now we have it from on high....24 hour drinking is bad.
Any bloody fool could have told them that. You pay a visit to any town throughout the UK on a Friday or Saturday night and watch the happenings.
Alcohol related violence is increasing and is consuming valuable police resources in dealing with people who are so drunk they don't even know what planet they're on.
This has got to stop....surely!!_________________ Roll on 2010...the day of liberty is at hand.

Yeah the powers that be have stopped smoking in public, but they continue to allow 24 hr drinking.
I know the smoking ban is for our own good, but smokers themselves do not cause the misery and suffering that drunks can ie by drink driving or fighting.

As a reformed smoker...I stopped 25 years ago..anything that stops people smoking has to be good. When I lived in London, my daughter used to work as a croupier in a London gambling club. She'd come home at about 5am and would actually wake us up from the stench of tobacco. It was quite vomit-inducing. However, back to the subject...we're discussing 24 hour drinking not 24 hour smoking.....lol
In a previous existence, I used to view CCTV images from Yeovil, Somerset and the scenes there, even prior to 24 hour drinking were disturbing to say the least. God knows what it's like there now._________________ Roll on 2010...the day of liberty is at hand.

As far as drink goes, tis the man, not the drink, that causes the violence.
I never drank so much that I ended up being violent to anyone, I never hurt a soul....and I used to drink 8-10 pints every single night, 7 days a week for about 10 years.
Now, I hardly drink at all and I still wouldn't hurt a soul. |

I remember my youth and going out for a good night out. A night round the town followed by a nightclub, drinking. We'd get very wobbly, but NEVER so ratarsed we'd fall over in the street, or start brawling, I just don't understand the drinking mentality nowadays. I watch Booze Britain on TV, and its just mental how much they drink and thats before they even get out of the house! Why fgs? You don't need to be shitfaced on the floor in a pool of vomit to say, 'I had a good night last night' !!!
Love those new adverts, saying you wouldnt start a night off like this, so why end it like it....great message...have you seen them? |
