GIRL FIGHT FOOTBALLER JAIL LET-OFF
FORMER international footballer Malcolm Allen escaped jail yesterday after admitting kicking and punching a woman during a fight outside a pub.

The ex-Newcastle and Wales striker, 39, got a four month suspended sentence for attacking Kim Burnell, 24, and cutting her lip when he was called to his sister's aid in the brawl in Bangor, Gwynedd.

Mold crown court heard he'd had alcohol problems since retiring through injury and had too much to drink. He conceded that he went "over the top" and regretted his actions.

Allen, now a BBC pundit, was also fined £200 with 100 hours community service and ordered to attend a rehab clinic.
