ACROBATIC FOOTBALLER HURLS BALL 70 YARDS

SOMERSAULTING Glenn Smith causes defensive chaos with his amazing 70-yard throw-ins.

The amateur footballer and international gymnast runs up and puts the ball on the ground before flipping over and launching it down the pitch. Glenn, 24, said: "My balance and bounce help and the throw comes from my flexibility and muscle strength. The throw was still our secret weapon until the other day - when we scored a late equaliser off it. The opposition were caught completely cold."

Glenn, of Northern League club Stokesley, North Yorks, was inspired by Steve Watson's throws for Newcastle in the 90s.
