Charlie Daniels, author of Priceless

If anyone hasn't discovered it already there is a super book out by the ex-madam (Miss) Charlie Daniels, who was believed to be the biggest madam in the North and ran many parlours and flats in the Leeds area.

Now I don't go in for glamourising the whole vice trade business but I have to say I was reccommended this book by a girlfriend and was blown away.

Daniels's has turned her life around, quit the industry and is now a tireless campaigner. In the back of the book I found a reference to her site: www.misscharliedaniels.com

The book is not one of those misery books and is peppered with hilarious stories and anecdotes. It is a real rags to riches story and has a great deal of gripping drama - rather like a Martina Cole novel.

According to her site she is also a TV regular, I saw a piece on her in Gratzia in the summer but she's also been on Loose Women, This Moring and some others apparently.

Why am I raving about this book?
Simple. I approached Charlie to speak at one of my charity dinner parties recently and not only did she lighten our night and charm our guests I found her to be a truly inspirational charachter. Several of our esteemed guest knew Charlie already (not from her trade I may add) from their own businesses and remarked what an extraordinary charachter she is.
I was also astounded to hear the book was not ghost written Charlie started writting in prison where she won the Koestler award, which forms one of the chapters.

Don't miss out on the book it's out now in hardback and according to Borders in paperback next spring.

How unkind, I actually feel really bad now.
It was my first post ever and to be treated with such hostility and contempt.

Is this a clicky place where I am to be judged and hung without a trial?
If this is the case then I shall retreat gracefully and leave those who placed such destructive comments to their own malicious devices.

Dissapointed.
