Its bad enough eating dead animals but to actually watch something being killed is barbaric unless its a human

id have to disagree with you there, its not barbaric, its showing the process of getting meat from real live animals to eating them.

It, to me, is very interesting and gives a great insight to where food comes from, how its handled and whats involved

Well most of us get the idea of where meat comes from and what is involved from it being an alive animal to a piece of meat on our plates but the killing of baby animals or any defenceless animal who dont do any harm to anyone and put total trust in us is just sick.

If its okay to kill baby animals then why is it wrong for a dog to maul a child to death - because the dog should know better - kids can be cruel but most animals wouldnt hurt anyone on purpose.

People think animals are dumb but they still have hearts that beat and they can feel pain.  Imagine an animal taking a baby away from its parents and cutting its throat and letting it bleed to death - suppose there is nothing wrong with that really, if we can do it to animals then animals should be able to do it to humans.

So are you against killing all animals for human consumption or just young ones?

I dont like the idea of animals being killed for human consumption but obviously humans are canibals and so animals have to be killed which is bad enough but yes I am totally against the killing of baby animals.  I dont each much meat anyway and I certainly wont touch lamb, veal, venison, duck, rabbit, goose, in fact I only touch meat cos hubby cooks a Sunday lunch and insists have have some but its only chicken, beef or pork and to be honest I dont enjoy any of it.

Much prefer puddings

good for you jo!  i totally agree with you about killing animals for food.  i stopped eating meat 15 years ago and it was the best thing i have ever done.  it's a crock of shit that people think they need to eat meat.  i know it's hard to break out of a way of life that you grew up with, but it's something worth thinking about in my opinion.

Hubby cooked some pork the other day and it was awful and never ate any of it.  Even now the thought of eating any meat make me feel sick.  From now on think Im just gonna have the vegetables
